This Is How You Can Make Your Commute More Exciting

Your commute to work or school can be the most boring and dreaded moment of a weekday. You’re either stuck in a jam or cramped on the LRT or MRT. The feeling is very much mutual, and that’s why we’ve made a list of the things you can do to make your commute a little more exciting and productive!

1. Listen to podcasts

Podcasts are a great way to tune out the outside world and be in a good mental space. Great podcasts can be found on Spotify, Apple Music, Soundcloud, AisKacang and more. There are loads of genres from motivational and inspiring to murders and mysteries.

Some of my favourites are Girlboss Radio, The NoSleep Podcast, And That’s Why We Drink and Side Hustle School.

2. Organize your day

Writing or typing down what you’re gonna do for the day helps you have an overview of what your day is going to look like, so you don’t feel too overwhelmed and like everything’s messy.

The Notes app on your phone or to-do list apps are a great way of reminding yourself that you NEED to send that email at precisely 3.45pm Рyou know, weird things like that.

3. Get some work done

If you know you’re gonna be swamped with work, meetings and/or school for the day, then it’s a good time to use your commute to finish up some easy work.

Read and reply to some emails, giving feedback to colleagues, proofreading some things and more! This only applies if you’re not driving. Keep your eyes on the road, ladies!

4. Read or listen to an e-book

People rarely carry physical books nowadays, but luckily, we have the interweb.

E-books are widely available, easily accessible, and much more affordable! If you get motion sickness from looking at your phone for too long on a moving vehicle, then this is a great alternative when you’re craving a good book.

5. Play mobile games that sharpen your mind

Crossword puzzle games, spelling games, any game that will sharpen your mind are great to play in the morning before you start your day.

This gets you to focus and it really wakes you up!

6. Listen to a bomb playlist

Nothing gets you going like music, and the playlist you choose can make or break your day.

You can have a full-on concert in your car, or silent-foot-tap on the train!
